Manuela Mordhorst was born and raised in Bonn, Germany in 1970.  From 2009 on she was working as an independent artist.

Since the early 1980's she is interested in arts, culture and music. Early musical training by the pianist and conductress Chean See Ooi.

Mordhorst is strongly influenced by her italian and Sylt island roots, and by her father who is artistically very talented in painting,

mottle and gild. The artist is married, lives and works close to Hamburg, Germany.  Regularly she participates in national exhibitions. 


Manuela Mordhorst worked as a documentation assistant for sociological and political literature in Bonn after high school education 

During the apprenticeship Manuela Mordhorst was always training by private art teachers and seminars / workshops in Bonn and


Manuela Mordhorst learned different technical processes, taking into account various painting grounds and materials, with a focus on

still lifes and landscapes


1995 Further training in charcoal and graphite drawing, with a focus on still lifes, sketches and portraits 

1996 Further education in acrylic and tempera painting, focus on abstraction 

1997 Further education in Indian ink, watercolor, gouache, pigments, production of own materials 

2002 - 2017 Freelance photographer, focus on lifestyle, people, events & landscapes, art 

2006 Relocation from Cologne to Handeloh near Buchholz in der Nordheide, Lower Saxony 

2009 - ongoing Freelance artist 

Since 2012 Various exhibitions and trade fair presentations 

2014 Further training in gilding 

2015 Autodidactic examination of stone flour and chalk 

2018 Studio community in Maschen Factory, Hittfeld / Maschen 

2019 Board member of the art association Art Projekt, Bruchhausen-Vilsen 


Manuela Mordhorst is married, lives and works in Handeloh near Hamburg
